To maintain the integrity of the tournament and the intent of USA Hockey, the Zero
Tolerance Policy will be strictly enforced for all games for the duration of the tournament. Any player, parent, or coach found to be in violation will be asked to leave the facility.
USA Hockey approved rosters must be submitted with teams application. Only those players on the rosters are eligible to play. Only Coaches and players listed on the tournament roster will be allowed on the bench.
There is a Maximum of four coaches allowed on the bench at any one time.
All coaches will verify their rosters prior to the first game.
All players must sign in prior to the start of the first game
All teams shall provide two blank score sheets and Stickers of the Roster at the time of check in
Locker rooms will be assigned to each team for each game time.
Please do not leave equipment n the locker rooms between games
Please leave the locker rooms clean from all garbage
All equipment requirements are per USA Hockey Rules
Each team will play a minimum of 3 games.
The official game schedule shall be provided to each team before the start of the tournament.
The team’s staff is responsible for ensuring the team is at the rink at the correct time. Failure to do so will result in the game being forfeit (3-0, 5 Point Awarded)
Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes prior to their scheduled ice time. Games may begin up to 15 minutes early.
All games will consist of three stop-time periods of 15 minutes with 1 min between periods
Game timing will commence with a 3:00 minute warm up. The time keeper shall determine the warm-up by sounding a buzzer. Teams not ready to play will forfeit their warm-up time.
A curfew clock may be used to ensure games remain on schedule
The ice will be resurfaced before every game
Preliminary round games will be scored using a 5-point system. One (1) point will be awarded for each period that is won and (2) points for the final score. Games or periods that end in ties, will split point(s)
To ensure that the tournament stays on schedule, no timeouts will be allowed in preliminary round games
Mercy rule: If (5) five goals separate the team in the third period, running time shall commence. The clock will revert back to stop time if the goal differential becomes (3) goals or less.
The clock will be stopped for injuries only
In the event of a tie at the end of the preliminary rounds the following will be used to determine team rankings
Goals for / Goals Against (Higher ratio)
Fewest Penalty Minutes (Misconducts count)
All championship games must be played. If one of the teams who qualified is unable to participate in a final game due to unforeseen reasons or disqualification, the divisional runner-up or next qualified team will take their place. The team unable to participate will forfeit all rights to any and all awards.
Championship games will not use the point system.
In case of a tie at the end of regulation, games will use a 5 minute overtime sudden victory. If there is still no winner, a shoot out will determine the victor.
3 players from each team will take one shot on goal.
In the event of a tie after 3 players, 1 new player from each team will be given the opportunity to shoot until there is a winner.
If an entire team uses its available skaters, both teams will reset who can take shots.
All Major Penalties are 5 Minutes & All Misconducts are 10 minutes.
Any major penalty for fighting will result in automatic suspension from the tournament. Any match penalty will also result in automatic suspension from the tournament.
All suspended coaching staff/players are NOT allowed on, near or behind the benches/penalty box or otherwise allowed to participate in the game.
Forfeited games due to penalties, or missed game times will score 3-0, with all 5 points going to opponent
NO abuse of any game official will be tolerated and NO preliminary warning will be issued before penalties are assessed.
Parents and spectators are subject to immediate removal from the arena for any abusive or intolerable behavior.
